Velour is a knitted counterpart of velvet combining the stretchy properties of knits such as spandex with the rich appearance and feel of velvet. This makes it an ideal cover for a memory foam mattress as not only is it soft and very comfortable, but can also shape and mould itself with the memory foam. The velour cover is removable and machine washable and is intended to be slept on, so having a spare adds to convenience.
